This was a very satisfying thriller. The whole way through I thought I knew "who did it," then wasn't sure, but then was absolutely sure. I was wrong. And then, to top it all off, I had that "slap my forehead" moment where it all made sense and I should have seen it coming. This was a very compelling book. Fast paced, great descriptions, and just the right amount of humor. Can't wait for his next book.

This book was so hard to put down once you start it. You think you know who did it but you don't till the end. I will recommend this book to my friends.
Could not put this one down. Bravo to Brad Parks. Well developed characters, a plot that could really happen, and an ending you won't see coming are all wrapped up in Parks' stand-alone. He just keeps getting better and better.
I think I just found a new author. Brad Parks knows how to keep the reader entertained and engaged. Yes, there was some slow parts, but he more than made up for it when things were getting intense. He keeps you guessing all the way through the book on who the rapist was and who was framing the main character. Th final courtroom scene as heart pounding. Kudos to Mr Parks for a fabulous read.

Brad Parks has done it again. "It" being a book that I could not put down. This story made me angry, sad, and was too real to the possibilities that exist in our society today. His detail was "visualized" to me as I read. I can see the story in my head. I love it when a book delivers that kind of punch,.
This is Brad Parks' 2nd stand alone novel, and as a book in the mystery/thriller genre, it had me guessing "who done it" all the way til the end. It was a perfect story and I highly recommend reading it.
Melanie Barrick is thrown into a tailspin from the minute she arrives at her babysitter's to find out hey child had been taken by Social Services. Next thing she knows her house is being raided by the cops, who find drugs in the baby's room and her missing cell phone with the drugs. Meanwhile the D.A. is investigating a rapist that whispers to his victims. And wouldn't you know Melanie is one of his victims. It only ramps up from there. I will say no more, just read it!
